Dr. Lee feels blessed to have our dedicated team of hygienists! Each of them displays a strong commitment to the field of dentistry and dental hygiene for Federal Way residents. Your Brushing “Bootcamp”:

  • Use only a soft-bristled toothbrush and brush at least twice a day.
  • Fluoridated toothpaste is recommended.
  • Hold your toothbrush at a 45 degree angle toward the gumline and make small circles.
  • Brush for at least two minutes each time.
  • Replace your toothbrush every 2-3 months or after a cold.
  • Consider an electric toothbrush, like Sonicare or OralB!

Flossing Fitness:

  • Floss at least once a day, preferably at night.
  • Use at least 18 inches of floss each time you floss.
  • Wrap the floss in a “C” shape around each tooth following the curve of the gumline and scrape up and down each side of the tooth to reach below the gums.
  • If you have challenges, consider checking out all the different types of “flossers” on the market.

Supplements for your hygiene program:

  • For persistent bad breath, consider a tongue cleaner to remove accumulated bacteria.
  • Mouth-rinses can give you increased fluoride or reduce bacteria, discuss with us which of these would serve you better.
  • Avoid rinses with alcohol.
